Hi, I’m Linda Conder!
I’m passionate about helping people live healthier, more vibrant lives as they age.
My journey into the world of nutrition and gut health began over 15 years ago after a personal health crisis that changed everything for me.
While volunteering in Kenya, I contracted amoebic dysentery, which later developed into ulcerative colitis—a painful and debilitating condition. Despite numerous medical consultations, I found no relief until I discovered the power of gut health through an eye-opening interview on ABC Radio.
That moment sparked a deep dive into the science of the gut-brain connection, and what I learned transformed my life.
Now, I’m here to share that knowledge with you through my Gut-Brain Program for Healthy Aging. This program is designed for those who want to optimize their health as they age, prevent cognitive decline, and live with more energy and vitality.
I believe that aging doesn’t have to mean a decline in mental or physical health. In fact, with the right approach, it can be a time of renewed strength, clarity, and joy.
The Gut-Brain Program
My program focuses on nourishing the gut to enhance brain function—a connection that’s often overlooked but is crucial to maintaining cognitive health.
As we age, the quality of our diet becomes even more important. The foods we eat directly affect our blood sugar levels, hormones, and the neurotransmitters in our brains, all of which play a significant role in how we feel and function every day.
Throughout the program, I’ll guide you through practical, science-based strategies to support your gut health, improve your cognitive function, and boost your overall well-being. Whether it’s through dietary adjustments, lifestyle changes, or targeted supplements, my goal is to help you take control of your health and enjoy life to the fullest.
I’ve walked this path myself…
…overcoming significant health challenges and emerging stronger and more vibrant.
Now, I’m here to help you do the same. Let’s work together to ensure that your later years are filled with health, happiness, and a sharp, active mind.

The Blue Zones
Genetics - Although your genetic makeup plays a role in your health and lifespan, you needn't resign yourself to a predetermined destiny. This is because you possess the power to actively influence your genes through dietary and lifestyle choices.
Cognitive function test - The cognitive test serves as a validated tool to assess your risk of dementia and gauge your cognitive abilities on a scale. Regular administration every few months allows for monitoring of your progress.
Blood test - Blood tests are crucial for accurately assessing levels of nutritional markers, which have been scientifically linked to overall health and particularly mental well-being.
Gut bacteria - As we age, our gut microbiota may shift from a balanced state to dysbiosis, wherein harmful bacteria outnumber beneficial ones. This imbalance can lead to the production of damaging chemicals and activation of the immune system, resulting in adverse health effects throughout the body. Preserving beneficial bacteria is vital as they play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of our health.
Diet - The differnt voices and opitions around diet can be overwhelming. I highlight the latest research around diets, key foods and key nutrients to ensure both your gut and brain work in harmony, supporting your journey to towards longivity.
Supplements - Navigating the multitude of supplements claiming to enhance both mind and body can be overwhelming. Prioritising clinically proven supplements ensures optimal results and prevents wasting resources on ineffective products.
Sleep - Contrary to common belief, achieving restful sleep as we age is possible. Prioritising good sleep hygiene is essential as inadequate sleep accelerates cognitive decline.
Exercise - Establishing an effective and efficient exercise regimen is key to promoting the longevity of both mind and body.
Stress and toxins - Identifying and minimising exposure to stress and toxins is paramount in our modern society, as they are often the abundant, yet overlooked anchors disrupting out health.
The Blue Zones are geographical regions where a significant portion of the population lives long, healthy lives, often surpassing 100 years. Exploring the lifestyle factors contributing to their longevity and adopting them can be beneficial.
Gut Health is Crucial for Healthy Aging
How The State of Your Gut Affects Your Brain
The gut and brain communicate constantly. The health of your gut is crucial for brain function. The gut produces neurotransmitters and absorbs nutrients like vitamin B12, influencing brain function. Factors like periodontal disease and low stomach acid affect cognitive decline. The gut barrier, akin to the blood-brain barrier, regulates nutrient absorption and blocks toxins. Research into the gut microbiome's impact on cognition is advancing, suggesting potential benefits of probiotics and a gut-friendly diet for brain health.
Nutrient Absorption: As we age, our bodies may become less efficient at absorbing nutrients, including vitamins and minerals critical for overall health and cognitive function. A healthy gut ensures optimal absorption of these nutrients, such as vitamin B12, which is essential for neurological health.
Inflammation Control: The gut plays a significant role in regulating inflammation throughout the body. Chronic inflammation is associated with various age-related diseases, including cognitive decline and neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease. A healthy gut helps to maintain a balanced inflammatory response.
Microbiome Balance: The gut microbiome, consisting of trillions of bacteria, influences digestion, immunity, and even mood regulation. Imbalances in the microbiome (dysbiosis) have been linked to conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), but also potentially to cognitive decline and mood disorders. Supporting a diverse and balanced microbiome through diet and probiotics can promote overall health as we age.
Brain-Gut Axis: Emerging research indicates a strong connection between the gut and the brain, often referred to as the "brain-gut axis." The gut produces neurotransmitters and communicates with the brain through various pathways. Maintaining a healthy gut can potentially support cognitive function and mental well-being.
Overall Health and Longevity: A healthy gut contributes to overall physical health and vitality, which are essential for maintaining independence and quality of life as we age. By supporting gut health through diet, lifestyle, and possibly supplementation (like prebiotics and probiotics), individuals can potentially reduce the risk of age-related health issues and improve their overall longevity.
In essence, caring for gut health is not only about digestive comfort but also about promoting a resilient immune system, balanced inflammation response, and supporting optimal brain function throughout the aging process.
